In December of 1531 the Blessed Mother Mary appeared on a forest trail to a poor Mexican peasant, Juan Diego. Mary instructed Juan go visit his Bishop and request a chapel be built.  The next day Our Lady appeared again and miraculously, out of season roses grew for Juan to gather and present to his Bishop as a sign of Mary’s request. Juan opened his TILMA, during the Bishop visit, and the roses fell to the floor leaving a miraculous image of pregnant Mary on the TILMA, proclaiming LIFE. Our Lady of Guadalupe, with her black sash, as she appeared was carrying unborn Jesus in her womb.

Almost immediately, millions of the indigenous population converted and stopped the barbaric sacrifice of infants in ceremonies to the “gods.” A TILMA, LOCALLY began to save lives.
